"A bone to the dog is not charity. Charity is the bone shared with the dog, when you are just as hungry as the dog." - Jack London
Obedience Training is generally teaching a dog to perform specific behaviors, such as sit, down, and heel on cue.
An obedient dog is more than a dog who knows how to sit and stay. It is a dog who has learned the fundamentals for good behavior and manners. Sit and stay can also mean, sit by the door and stay until I am ready to go!
Private lessons are always the fastest road to your training goals and have many advantages. See benefits to private in-home training for more information.
The following are some of the obedience commands that you can learn:

Basic Obedience

This package will cover basic obedience commands including focus, sit, down, leave it, come, stay and walking manners. Continued leadership roles and advanced socialization skills are discussed.

This class further refines obedience skills under the highest level of distractions. More challenges will be added to come when called and loose leash walking. Heeling will be introduced and focus skills will be enhanced. Behavior problems will be evaluated and addressed as well.

Let's Go for a Walk!
In these sessions we will focus on loose leash walking and heeling. Here I will teach you good habits while walking with your dog. I can help you with proper leadership skills and teach you how to work with your dog on focus behaviors in distracting environments.

Canine Good Citizen
Started in 1989, CGC is a certification program through the AKC that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. The classes can be done in your home, but the test has to be done in another safe location.
